Meet Khaalidah Miller
Hello, my name is Khaalidah Miller and I welcome you to my website. I work within the English Language Arts department at Midtown High School and will be assisting with all things ELA. I will be teaching Literature & Composition I and Literature & Composition II. My goal is to ensure that each student has the tools that they will need to be successful both in the classroom and in life. I am here to make a difference and support the students/families of this community.
What’s the 411?
Most people do not know that, I too, am a product of Atlanta Public Schools. I attended both elementary (Collier Heights) and high school (Douglass) in APS. Fun fact about me is that I was a coach and huge part of the success of a 2-time state champion Douglass girls basketball team. We were able to win TWO back-to-back state championships in the 2019 & 2020 seasons, something that has never been done in the history of APS girl's basketball. Being an alumni of Atlanta Public Schools and returning as an employee, is a different level of gratification. I am honored to be apart of the Midtown staff and to be able to give back to the students of this community.
Education
I attended the University of Georgia and studied in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences. I received my Bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Science while also being a full-time student-athlete. I was on full scholarship as a member of the women’s basketball team as a 4-year starter with All-Sec honors. I competed in 4 NCAA tournaments with multiple Sweet 16’s and an Elite 8 appearance. Became one of few Lady Bulldogs to score over a 1000 points and hold records in multiple categories. I also bleed red and black. GO DAWGS! I received my Master's degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis on Humanities from GCU! In addition to bleeding red and black, I also bleed purple as well! Go Lopes! I have also attained my Education Specialist degree at Mercer University! Go Bears!
